Follow the step-by-step guide to mount or demount your Twistboxes safely.

How to install your Twistboxes Roof Box

  • Step 1 : Unclip and Roll Out
    Place Twistboxes on the ground and unclip the outer straps holding the box together in its rolled position. Carefully roll out the box completely until the bottom plate is fully extended.
  • Step 2: Stabilize the Structure
    Locate the stabilizing locks underneath the bottom structure. Rotate each stabilizing lock from its horizontal transport position into the active locked position. Push and click each section securely into place using the locking handle. Once locked, the structure becomes rigid and stable, creating the solid base of Twistboxes.
  • Step 3: Place Twistboxes on the Vehicle Fold the sidewalls inward and place the lid flat over the sides. Lift Twistboxes in its flat position onto the roof rack of the vehicle and position it centrally on the crossbars.
  • Step 4: Choose Mounting System
    Twistboxes supports two mounting options depending on your roof rack setup.

    T-Slot Roof Racks: use the included T-bolts. Insert the T-bolt into the roof rack channel and guide it through the mounting hole inside Twistboxes. 

    Standard Roof Racks / Fixed Points: If your roof rack does not have a T-slot, use the included U-bolts. Guide the U-bolt around the crossbar and through the mounting holes.
  • Step 5: Secure the Mounting
    For both T-bolt and U-bolt installation:
    1. Place the safety bracket over the bolt.
    2. Add the rubber washer
    3. Tighten using the mounting screw or Easy Quick fastener.
    Repeat this process for all mounting points until Twistboxes is securely attached to the vehicle. Make sure all mounting points are tightened evenly and securely before use.
  • Step 6: Prepare for Loading
    Close the inner lining inside Twistboxes to create the cargo compartment. Twistboxes is now ready to be packed. Load your gear evenly and make sure the weight is distributed correctly across the box.
  • Step 7: Close and Seal
    Close the lid and seal all side zippers completely. Double-check that all zippers and mounting points are fully secured before driving.

How to demount your Twistboxes Roof Box

  • Step 1: Empty the box
    Remove all cargo and fully open the zippers around Twistboxes.
  • Step 2: Release the Mounting Hardware
    Unzip the inner lining. Loosen the Easy Quick fasteners or mounting screws at each mounting point. Remove the rubber washer and safety bracket. Carefully pull the T-bolts or U-bolts free from the roof rack.
  • Step 3: Lift off the Vehicle
    Fully open the zippers and fold it flat. Lift Twistboxes off car and place it gently on the ground in its flat position.
  • Step 4: Prepare the inner lining Make sure the inner lining is fully extended outward, as this lining becomes the outer carrying cover once the box is rolled up.
  • Step 5: Unlock the Structure
    Rotate each stabilizing lock from its active locked position back to the horizontal transport position. The structure becomes flexible again, ready to be folded.
  • Step 6: Fold the Sides
    Fold both sidewalls inward toward the center of the box. Place the lid flat over the folded sides.
  • Step 7: Fold the Lid Starting from the rear, fold one section of the lid at a time toward the front of the box. Continue folding in a zigzag pattern until the entire lid is folded together against the raised front safety plate. This creates a compact and controlled folding structure before rolling.
  • Step 8: Roll the Box
    Begin rolling the bottom plate tightly from the front toward the rear until the entire structure is rolled into a compact cylinder. Keep the roll tight and even throughout the process.
  • Step 9: Secure for Storage
    Wrap the integrated bottom lining/cover around the rolled box. Fasten the clips and tighten the straps securely around the roll. Twistboxes is now compact, protected and ready for storage or transport.
